The OTT platform of Zee Entertainment has launched a new subscription plan for its Zee5 app. The new plan is to persuade television viewers towards digital India, where users can watch their shows digitally whenever they want and wherever they want. The club plan costs Rs 365/ Year.
What is Club Plan?
The Club plan users can watch Zee5 and ALTBalaji shows alongside over 1,000 movies, Zee Zindagi shows, and more than 90 live TV channels in different languages. The club plan costs Rs 365 per year which is cheaper than the existing annual plan which costs Rs 999.
Along with the regular content, some of Zee’s popular TV shows such as Kumkum Bhagya and Kundali Bhagya (Hindi), Sembaruthi (Tamil), Jothe Jotheyali (Kannada) and Mazya Navryachi Bayko (Marathi) would be available for the ZEE5 Club members before telecast on television.
In a statement, Mr. Rahul Maroli, Senior Vice President and Head SVOD, Zee5 India said,
With a strong consumer value proposition, ZEE5 Club will help us to board every Indian and provide them with a hyper-personalised and a seamless content viewing experience all at Rs. 365/year.
The All Access Plan
The Zee5 All Access plan can be availed at Rs 999 for a year or Rs 99 for a month. There are also Quarterly and half-yearly options at Rs 299 and Rs 599 respectively. However, the new club plan is only available for a year. Additionally, the company is giving 16% OFF on Rs 999 yearly plan.
Now, what’s the Difference!
Comparing the Premium Club plan (Rs 999/Year) and the Club plan (Rs 365/Year) both users will have access to Movies, Zee5 Originals, Live Tv, ALTBalaji, Korean / Turkish content, and movies, Zindagi and Kids content.
However there are some limitations in the Club plan like Zee5 Originals is limited to Soap drama, ALTBalaji is limited to Soap drama, Romance and light comedy, and 2 screens at a time. Whereas in the Premium Club plans users can watch up to 5 screens at the same time.
To recall you, recently Zee5 has announced that the company is going to launch a new short video platform called ‘HiPi’. The upcoming platform is said to be ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-reliant India) and is for creators in India. The announcement of HiPi is aimed at the recent ban on TikTok.
The announcement was made a few days after the Indian Government banned TikTok and 58 other mobile applications. This made space for Indian creators and developers to bring new offerings.
