Xiaomi Rumoured to Launch Mi Note 3 with 2K OLED This Month

Rahul Krishnan • Updated August 9, 2017 • 3 min read •

Xiaomi is no more a stranger to the gadget enthusiasts. They are the first to launch a smartphone with near bezel-less display. And, we have seen major multinational smartphone companies following Xiaomi in the display department.

A recent leak suggests that they may launch their next flagship smartphone Mi Note 3 before the August ends. Let’s have a closer look at the features we anticipate on Xiaomi Mi Note 3.

Xiaomi to Launch their Mi Note 3 this August

Xiaomi launched the predecessor Mi Note 2 in November 2016. But it looks like they want to launch Mi Note 3 before the same month this year. The latest leak points to the possibility of them, launching it in August.

If the leaks and rumors turn out to be true, we will see a 5.7-inches 2k display (1440×2560 pixels) on the smartphone. Xiaomi’s Mi Note series is already famous for fabulous displays and this improved pixel resolution will surely do well for the reputation. LG made the displays for the earlier Mi Note series smartphones. But this time around, Xiaomi has partnered with Samsung for the supply of display panels.

The flagship processor for 2017 is Snapdragon 835. The reason why LG G6 didn’t do well is mostly that of the lack of the latest flagship processor. Mi Note 3 will also come with Snapdragon 835 underneath the hood. For the same reason, we expect the smartphone to perform without any stutter even when you throw a heavy, graphic-intense game at it.

We expect Xiaomi to launch two variants of the smartphone; one with 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and another with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. There is a chance for them to opt for the Snapdragon 821 processor for the lower variant with less RAM and storage.

Xiaomi may follow the trend when it comes to cameras. The smartphone will most probably sport a dual-camera set up on the back. We haven’t got any information about the front camera just yet.

The company recently launched the latest version of their own skinned Android OS MIUI 9. For the same reason, they will include MIUI 9 that runs on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The rumors revealed the device will sport a 4070 mAh battery and support Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0.

Even though the smartphone isn’t official now, we think the price for the lower variant will be around $599 (Rs. 38893) and that of the higher one will be $699 (Rs. 45333).
