Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Unboxing Leaked; The Cheapest Snapdragon 845 Phone?

Rahul Krishnan • Updated August 14, 2018 • 3 min read •

You might have already heard of the new Xiaomi sub-brand Poco. In the last few weeks, we saw many leaks and speculations about the new device the company is going to release under the Poco banner.

Finally, on the contrary to anyone’s expectations, an unboxing has been leaked online. You can still see the video from GSMDome on YouTube. The uploader has included almost every specification of the device in the video. So, let’s dive into them.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Unboxing and Specifications Leaked Online

The unboxing video, as you read earlier, throws light onto all the specifications. You can clearly see the device and its package in the video. Except the phone, you get an adapter, USB Type-C cable, and a back cover inside the packet. On the back, you will see a dual camera setup along with a fingerprint scanner.

Up front, you can see a display with a notch on the top. It houses the earpiece and the front camera. We are even hearing speculations that it will also include an IR sensor for secure face unlocking facility. The display looks like it measures 6-inch.

As we go deep inside the hood, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6 GB RAM. The internal storage is 64 GB and we are not sure about the availability of memory expansion.

We think Xiaomi’s aim is to bring down the cost of phones with flagship chipsets. For the same reason, Pocophone F1 will be the cheapest phone with Snapdragon 845 processor. The processor itself proclaims the raw power the device will bring with it. Given the capability of the phone, the company also included a liquid cooling system to prevent Pocophone F1 from overheating while heavy gaming sessions.

When it comes to the camera, the company boasts about its AI capabilities in the package itself. The megapixel count of the cameras is unknown. However, we think the front camera houses a 20 megapixel for selfies. (GSMArena predicted the dual camera has a 12 MP and a 5 MP sensor). Only an unboxing is available right now. And, we couldn’t get a gist of all the optic features the phone has from that single video.

The software is the same; MIUI based on Android. Still, the unboxing shows the interface is a bit different from the default theme of pure Xiaomi phones. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh and it has support for QuickCharge 3.0.

The device will go live first in India and Europe. The official social media handles have confirmed the date that it will happen on August 22 at a special event in New Delhi.

So, what do you think? Will it create another hype for Xiaomi?
