Xiaomi launched their budget phablet Mi Max 2 around 14 months ago. The device grabbed the attention in the market due to its massive battery. The company has come again with the successor Mi Max 3.
They haven’t globally launched the device yet. However, we think the company will bring the phone to other markets (especially India) provided the wide acceptance of the predecessor.
Xiaomi Launched Mi Max 3 in China
You know Xiaomi isn’t a company who goes underground for a while and then comes back. They periodically release smartphones. The newest to the list is Mi Max 3; a phablet with some impressive specifications.
As we go down to the features, the first thing you notice on the phone is its large 6.9-inch Full HD+ display. It offers a brightness level of 520 nits, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and 84 percent NTSC color gamut. You can put in two nano SIM cards into the phone.
Underneath the hood, the handset packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, coupled with an Adreno 509 GPU. And, you can choose between 4 GB/ 64 GB or 6 GB/ 128 GB variants. It is possible for you to expand the storage up to 256 GB using an external SD card.
When it comes to the optics, Mi Max 3 sports a vertical dual camera setup. It comprises a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Both the lenses have f/1.9 aperture and have support for AI portrait mode as well. Up front, it has an 8 MP selfie shooter with a soft flash. You will also get access to Face Unlock, making use of the front camera.
The phone runs on MIUI 9.5 on top of Android Oreo 8.1. We believe it should get MIUI 10 update soon.
You get almost all the normal connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, etc. Moreover, it packs in the common sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, an infrared sensor, etc.) as well.

The 5500 mAh battery inside the phone supports Quick Charge 3.0. We haven’t got any details on the time it takes for a complete charging session.
The pre-orders for the phone will start in China tomorrow. They have given a price of CNY 1699 (roughly Rs. 17300) for the base variant whereas the 6 GB/ 128 GB variant bears a tag of CNY 1999 (roughly around 20,400).
