Xiaomi has finally launched its much-awaited Redmi Note 7 series in India. Earlier, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 7 in China. Post that, Indian fans of the company had been waiting for the company to make an announcement regarding Redmi Note 7 for Indian markets. The company had already announced that Redmi Note 7 will launch on February 28.
However, Xiaomi had a surprise up its sleeve at the Redmi Note 7 launch event. The company also launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India at the same event. It is worth noting that this was also the global launch of Redmi Note 7 Pro. In 2017, Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 in India which was also a global launch.
Redmi Note 7 Pro with 48MP rear camera announced
Xiaomi’s latest Redmi Note series smartphones, Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro, are now officially announced in India. As far as the Redmi Note 7 is concerned, it is the same as the Redmi Note 7 available in China. However, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with upgraded specifications compared to the Redmi Note 7.
Also, Xiaomi has priced both of its smartphones very attractively. It is to be noted that the latest smartphones come under the Redmi by Xiaomi brand. This is because Xiaomi announced their new Redmi sub-brand earlier this year.
Talking about the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the smartphone comes with “Aura Design” same as Redmi Note 7. Also, the display has the same 6.3-inch panel with Full HD+ screen. This display has a ‘Dot Notch’ which is the same as OnePlus 6T’s Waterdrop notch. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 series comes with Gorilla Glass 5 on front and back.
The main difference between Redmi Note 7 Pro and Note 7 is in its processor and camera. Redmi Note 7 has a Snapdragon 660 powering the device. On the other hand, Redmi Note 7 Pro runs on Snapdragon 675 chipset. You get 4/6GB RAM options and 64/128GB internal storage options on both the devices.
As for the camera, Redmi Note 7 Pro also has a dual camera setup same as Redmi Note 7. However, Redmi Note 7 Pro’s camera is a 48MP+5MP setup compared to Redmi Note 7’s 12MP+2MP setup. Redmi Note 7 Pro’s 48MP camera is supported by Sony’s IMX 580 sensor.
It should be noted, however, that Redmi Note 7 Pro’s 48MP camera actually shoots pictures at 12 MP resolution. Later on, the photos are converted into 8000 x 6000 pixels with a technology called ‘Pixel Binning’.
Coming to the price, Redmi Note 7’s base variant is priced at Rs. 9,999 in India and goes all the way up to Rs. 11,999. Redmi Note 7 Pro, on the other hand, starts at Rs. 13,999 and goes up to Rs. 16,999 in India.
