While Xiaomi was busy building its online fan base, Oppo and Vivo played well offline to get a significant percentage of the sales numbers. The company has launched their premium offering, Vivo V9 on March 23.
Unlike the V9, their latest device Y71 didn’t go into the limelight. The company chose to silently launch the device, maybe because it comes in mid-range pricing.
Vivo Silently Launched Y71 with 5.99-inch FullView HD+ Display
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has become popular in India as they are trying hard to be visible via advertisements. You know they have allotted a heavy amount just for the sake of visibility.
However, it is surprising to see that the latest smartphone from the company, Vivo Y71 got a silent treatment. They haven’t invited many to the launch event, neither do they publicised the same as well.
Let’s have a look at the specifications. Y71 is the first of its series to come with an 18:9 FullView display. The 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen sports a resolution of 720x 1440 (HD+). You won’t sport a fingerprint scanner on the device not because they hid it under the screen, but they ditch it apparently. Nonetheless, you will get face unlock feature for convenience.
As we go under the hood, we will a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor made out of 14 nm manufacturing process. A 3 GB RAM will accompany the SoC in powering up the device. And, you can expand the 16 GB internal storage up to 256 GB using an external SD card.
When it comes to the optics, Vivo Y71 flaunts a 13 MP sensor with LED flash on the rear and a 5 MP selfie shooter up front. They haven’t highlighted any beauty mode or other selfie camera features.
The phone runs on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box from the juice of a 3360 mAh battery. You will get the significant connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GLONASS, GPS, micro USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack.
As you already read, Y71 comes with a price tag of Rs. 10,999. With this pricing, it competes against Redmi Note 5 and Honor 9 Lite. The former costs Rs. 9999 for the 3 GB variant and Rs. 11999 for the 4 GB variant. Honor 9 Lite, on the other hand, carries the price tag of Rs. 10999 for the 3 GB variant and Rs. 14999 for the 4 GB variant. There are obvious differences in specifications as well.
