Vivo has announced a new smartphone in the Y-series dubbed as Y12G in India. The smartphone comes under the budget category with a Snapdragon 400 series chipset. The Android mobile is very similar to their previously launched Y12s in January. The newly announced smartphone brings a water-drop notch in the front; and has a polycarbonate back with a dual-camera setup.
The design of the device is very much similar to the previously launched Vivo devices. The devices launched by Vivo at this price point are highly sold in offline markets. The Y12G smartphone will compete with devices such as Redmi 9 Power, Poco M2, and Samsung Galaxy M12.
Vivo Y12G Specifications
The Vivo device sports a 6.51-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1,600 pixels. The display features a 20:9 aspect ratio and a regular 60Hz panel. An Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC powers the device along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Also, the Y12G runs on the Android 11 Operating System with FunTouch OS 11 skin on top.
The camera department of the Y12G consists of a dual-lens setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The front-facing camera is of an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture for selfies and video calling. Besides, the cameras can record videos in 1080p at 30fps and can capture panorama pictures.
The connectivity options on the Y12G include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro-USB port. The sensor array on the smartphone comes with an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. Also, the fingerprint scanner is a side-mounted module for secure unlocking. The battery capacity of the device is 5000mAh which supports 10W charging.

The Vivo Y12G device is priced at Rs. 10,990 that comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The color options for the smartphone are Glacier Blue and Phantom Black. However, Vivo will ship the device on their Retail stores and other online platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, TatacliQ.
