Just when we started looking for a pair of unique yet appealing earbuds, we came across the Tozo Open Buds.
The brand has sent us a pair of these earbuds and we at Geek Dashboard have taken the chance to test the Tozo Open Buds Earbuds. These Truly Wireless Earbuds from the brand have made a good impression in bringing comfort and quality in a well-packaged bundle. These earbuds are not the typical neckband headphones but have unique open-air-conducting drivers being a TWS earphones.

What’s Inside the Box?
The contents of the box include the Tozo Open Buds themselves packed snuggly inside the space. Furthermore, the brand has provided a charging case which is quite rare as companies only provide cables.
The box comes with a charging cable as it’s a needed accessory to juice up the buds. On the other hand, you get the usual paper work which is the quick guide for the earbuds. Tozo has even included a user manual that will allow users to have a glance at how these buds work.

I have used the Tozo Open Buds for over a month before writing this review and here is what I feel about them.
Design and Comfort
The most highlighting factor about these earbuds is the adjustable ear hooks provided that allow for adjustment. These ear hooks feature a metal hinge mechanism that supports up to seven-stage adjustment and has a pretty solid feel while adjusting.
This makes these earphones that feature the most comfortable design. These earbuds make it a bliss for people who face difficulty with in-ear style buds. In terms of the design and the inclusion of the ear hooks with support for several adjustments, it is a great combination.
Drivers and Features
The Openbuds earbuds have quite large drivers when compared to other earphones in the market. These Tozo earbuds feature 14.2mm dynamic drivers that come with Tozo’s ORIGX Acoustic Technology.
In simple words, the ORIGX technology on the earbuds helps in isolating the sound only to the listener. This helps in reducing the leakage of sound on the earbuds making it much more private for listeners.
These earbuds don’t feature the traditional in-ear style buds but come with an air-conduction design that sits comfortably on top of the ear canal. This design makes it easy for runners and athletes to hear ambient surround sounds in public.
In terms of features, the Tozo earbuds don’t skip on any essential connectivity options. The buds come with the support of Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity with support for dual-device connection. Additionally, the buds even support AAC and SBC audio codecs to support different audio files and qualities.
Coming to the gestures control, the earbuds have capacitive touch controls with customizable single, double, triple, and long press gestures. There’s a wear detection sensor as well on the earbuds that automatically pauses and resumes media playback which is seen mostly on premium earbuds.
The listeners can even leverage the audio equalizer provided by the Tozo companion application. The application is available on Android and iOS devices and offers users a wide range of options. The earbuds work great for calling as well as the DSP call noise cancelation that takes full advantage of the dual microphones on the earbuds.
Performance and Battery
Let’s talk about the real-world performance of these earbuds, even though Tozo has provided acoustic technology to reduce sound leakage. The buds still tend to leak a good amount and people around can still hear the sound from the buds. However, the listening experience of these Open earbuds is quite different from traditional in-ear style earphones.
The music feels a bit lacking in terms of Bass and this might be due to the open-ear style design of these Open Buds. As mentioned previously, users who listen to music while running or athletes can take advantage of these buds due to their unique design and ear hooks.
With the Bass+ EQ presets provided on the companion application, listeners can have a better experience. In terms of listening experience, the Tozo earbuds don’t match the sound of the premium headphones but have made their mark.
The earbuds with their midrange and putting out the vocals and musical instruments without any distortion make it a good choice. At the low end, the earbuds feel less bassy compared to the other earbuds in the same price range. However, the buds don’t fall out in terms of the quality and clarity of the instruments and keep the tone balanced.
The battery life on the Tozo Earbuds is quite substantial but not the same as advertised by the company. The buds users with medium to high volume usage can easily get a battery life of 7 hours on both buds. With phone calls, this time may decrease but over the buds can provide a decent amount of battery with its compact design and performance.
