The Japanese consumer electronics titan Sony launched their latest flagship Xperia XZ1 in India today. They unveiled the smartphone earlier last month in IFA with Xperia XZ1 Compact and XA1 Plus. The last one was launched in India last week and we hear nothing about Sony bringing the compact edition to India anytime soon.
They conducted an event in New Delhi especially to launch Xperia XZ1 with some unique specifications.
Sony Xperia XZ1 Launched in India with 3D Scanning Camera
The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch full HD HDR display powered by Sony’s Triluminous and X-reality technology. For resisting scratches, it has got Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top of it. Underneath the hood, Xperia XZ1 has a 64-bit Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with Adreno 540 GPU and 4 GB of RAM. The 64 GB internal storage can be expanded up to 256 GB using an external SD card. The metal unibody design gives a flagship look to the device.
The unique selling point of the smartphone is its camera. On the back, the camera features a 19 MP Exmor sensor with 5-axis stabilization. The highlighted feature on Xperia XZ1 camera is its 3D scanning capabilities. The back camera can also shoot slow-motion videos up to 960 frames per second (just as we saw on Xperia XZ Premium). Not to mention, the camera is capable of shooting videos in 4K resolution as well.
Up front, the device got a 13-megapixel camera with 22mm wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also has a Sony Exmor sensor.

The device packs in almost every connectivity options for everyday life. Today, the company might launch both dual and single SIM versions in India. The power button placed on the right side of the phone houses the fingerprint scanner, which isn’t available in all the markets, though. XZ1 also has IP68 water and dust resistant rating.
When it comes to audio department, we get Hi-Res Audio, digital noise cancellation, S-Force surround sound, stereo recording, and Qualcomm’s own aptX audio software.
The smartphone running on Android 8.0 Oreo comes in black color in India. The 2900 mAh battery is a letdown for the power-hungry users despite the support for Quick Charge 3.0. Priced at Rs. 44990, the smartphone will hit the market today itself. As the launch offers, you can avail a Rs. 1000 on the Style stand cover priced at Rs. 3490 along with an additional 5% cash back on HDFC and ICICI cards.
