The two new flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 have officially launched in India. In the same event, Samsung announced their Galaxy Watch 6 series and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The watch series arrive in two different versions basic and classic; whereas the Tab S9 comes in the Plus and Ultra variants.
The Z Fold 5 and Z Flip arrive as a successor to the last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 handsets. The new Fold and Flip series features the latest Snapdragon flagship chipsets from Qualcomm that come with powerful performance. The successors come with updates and upgrades all around and don’t bring much change in the physical appearance.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 sports a cover display of 6.2 inches and a foldable screen of 7.6 inches both having an AMOLED panel. The displays support a 120Hz high refresh rate with the outer display featuring Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Furthermore, the inner foldable display supports HDR 10+ for a better viewing experience.
Under the hood, the device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset coupled with Adreno 740 chipset. The storage provided on the Z Fold 5 includes 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The handset runs on the latest Android 13 operating system with OneUI 5.1.1 skin on top.
The camera module features a triple camera setup of 50MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto lens. The front-facing camera on the inner display has a 4MP shooter and the outer display comes with a 10MP shooter for selfies and video calling. The battery pack on the Z Fold 5 includes a 4400mAh cell that supports 25W wired and 15W wireless fast charge.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 sports a 6.7 inches inner foldable display and a cover display of 3.4 inches with an AMOLED panel. The displays come with a 120Hz high refresh rate and the cover display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Moreover, the inner display of the Flip 5 supports HDR 10+ similar to the Fold 5.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset coupled with Adreno 740 GPU powers the handset. The storage provided on the Flip device includes up to 512 GB of internal storage and 8 GB of RAM. The software that runs the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the Android 13 operating system with One UI 5.1.1 skin on top.
The camera modules of the Flip 5 include a dual sensor setup of a 12MP primary wide shooter and a 12MP ultrawide shooter. The front-facing camera of the smartphone comes with a 10MP sensor for selfies and video calling. The battery provided with the handset includes a 3700mAh cell that supports 25W wired and 15W wireless fast charging.
Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at 1,54,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant and goes up to Rs. 1,84,999 for the 12 GB RAM and 1TB storage option. The Galaxy Flip 5 costs Rs. 99,999 for the 8GB + 256 GB version and goes up to Rs. 1,09,999 for the 8GB and 512 GB of internal storage.
The color variants for the Fold 5 include Cream, Icy Blue, and Phantom Black. Whereas, Flip 5 flaunts in Blue, Cream, Graphite, Gray, Green, Lavender, Mint, and Yellow shades.
