Finally, the Samsung fanboys can take rest for
Though the device has globally gone official, it will take some time to come to India. As always, we will be getting the Exynos variant of the phone.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Launched; Specifications and Release Date
You know why many people are fans of Note lineup; it’s because of the screen. Of course, some other companies have named their big screen devices Note. However, it is Samsung that changed the game.
Note 9 carries a 6.4-inch curved infinity QHD+ display. By default, the company has set the resolution to full HD+. You can revert to the highest possible resolution whenever needed.
In terms of innards, Galaxy Note 9 are of two types; one with Snapdragon 845 and the second with Exynos 9810. Samsung can’t sell flagship devices with Snapdragon processors in Asia and Europe. You can choose between 6 and 8 GB of RAM. Storage is where Samsung lures us. The basic variant has 128 inboard storage with the capacity to expand up to 512 GB. If you look at the premium variant, you will have 512 GB inbuilt storage (yeah, half a TB).
For the optics, you get a dual camera on the rear. It bears a 12 MP primary sensor with a variable aperture lens. The secondary sensor measures 12 MP coupled with a 2X zoom lens. Up front, you get an 8 MP camera with f/1.7 aperture.
On the software front, the phone has Android 8.0 Oreo (modified by Samsung). Of course, they will deliver Android 9 to it. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh with support for fast charging.
S Pen is one of the signature features of Note lineup. It has become powerful this time. S Pen can act as a remote for Note 9 as it includes Bluetooth connectivity.
In order to make sure the handset doesn’t heat up, the company said they are using a specialised cooling system that makes use of water, big heatsink, and some carbon fibre parts.
The camera has smart AI features to detect the screen and optimize the settings accordingly.
The device will hit the market on August 24, most probably in India too. The 128 GB variant of the phone costs $999 (around Rs. 68000). If you want the 512 GB version, you will have to shell out about Rs. 5000 more.

512 GB disk space… in a cell phone. How far we’ve come. I remember my very first computer had an 80 GB hard drive, lol. I remember buying thumb drives that were 128 MB. And that was only like… 15 years ago. Imagine where we’ll be 15 years from now!
