Samsung Galaxy A8s will come with Infinity-O display reveals leaked FCC listing ahead of launch

Abhishek Jariwala • Updated December 2, 2018 • 3 min read •

Samsung Galaxy A8s, the next flagship smartphone from Samsung after the Galaxy A8+, has now been leaked. This leak comes from a very well-reputed source which is the U.S. Certification site, FCC. FCC is an organization where each and every device has to pass through before launch to get certified. Now that the Galaxy A8s has visited FCC, it also means that the launch of this smartphone is very near. Coming back to the leaked FCC listing of the Galaxy A8s, this document was first found out by GalaxyClub on the FCC website.

According to the document, Samsung Galaxy A8s will have a hole in its display. Now, we earlier saw an announcement from Samsung regarding their new display panels having a notch. Samsung revealed that they will be producing displays named as Infinity-O, Infinity-V, Infinity-U and the Infinity display. Now, the Infinity display will be completely bezel-less which may be seen on the Samsung Galaxy 10. However, all the other display panels will have a notch.

This is also proven by the FCC document which shows that the Galaxy A8s has a hole in its display on the top-left for the front camera. This means that it will be an Infinity-O type display from Samsung. Apart from that, the aspect ratio of this display will be 19.5:9.

As per earlier reports, Galaxy A8s is tipped to feature a 6.39-inch full HD+ panel which is now confirmed to have an Infinity-O display. The device will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC and Adreno 616 GPU. The smartphone will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Also, the internal storage can be expanded further up to 512 GB. The device is said to come with Android 9.0 Pie and have Samsung’s recently-unveiled OneUI on top. Samsung Galaxy A8s is expected to include a 3400 mAh non-removable battery too.

This piece of news might be a bummer for most of the people who were looking to buy the Galaxy A8s. According to a Chinese tipster, the Galaxy A8s could ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack. Apart from that, the Galaxy A8s will have a triple camera setup on the rear. This triple camera setup should include the main sensor, another telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens. On the front, the Galaxy A8s is expected to have a 24 MP selfie camera. The Samsung Galaxy A8s is expected to be announced by the end of this month or early next year.
