RedmiBook series has officially arrived in India on Tuesday after the launch of Mi Notebooks last year at the same time. The series includes the RedmiBook Pro and RedmiBook e-Learning that features Full HD displays and 11th generation Intel processors under the hood. The Redmi Notebooks are specifically for students with e-learning models and Pro variants are for the work from home and professionals.
Mi has pre-loaded the Windows 10 Home Edition on the laptops along with Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition 2019. Apart from these, the laptops have the ability to upgrade to the latest Windows 11 operating system free of cost. Also, Xiaomi is providing one of their custom application called Mi Smart Share that enables sharing files from device to device easily.
RedmiBook e-Learning Specifications
The e-learning edition sports a 15.6-inch display with a Full-HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The device runs on the Windows 10 Home edition operating system. Under the hood, an 11th-generation Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor that has a 4.1GHz of overclock speed. The storage provided on the student edition notebook is 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256 SATA or 512GB of NVMe SSD internal storage.
The device features connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI ports, and USB ports in the I/O ports section. For media playback, users can take advantage of the 2W speakers that support DTS audio. The claimed battery life of the RedmiBook student edition is up to 10 hours backup on a single charge.
RedmiBook Pro Specifications
The Pro variant flaunts the same 15.6-inch screen with a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The operating system on the device is the Windows 10 Home edition upgradable to Windows 11 in the future. An Intel 11th-generation Core i5 11300H chipset powers the device combined with the Intel Iris Xe GPU support. Also, the scissor mechanism keyboard supports key travel of 1.5mm.
The RedmiBook Pro laptop has a wide 100cm trackpad that supports essential drivers such as Windows Precision and supports multi-touch. Mi has provided a 720p webcam on the device for video conferences and recording. The storage on the Pro variant is up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM with a 3200MHz clock speed. A 512GB of NVMe SSD is provided on the device for storage needs.
The connectivity options on the Pro variant include the Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth V5, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI port. The I/O port on the laptop even features the Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45), a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and an SD card reader port. The speaker setup on the device is of 2W dual tweeters with DTS audio support. The battery backup is of 10 hours on a single charge.
Price and Availability
The e-learning edition of the RedmiBook with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage at Rs. 41,999. The 8GB RAM and 512GB storage version comes at the price of Rs. 44,999. The Redmi Pro with a single version of 8GB RAM and 512GB storage comes at Rs. 49,999 in Charcoal Grey color option. The Redmi series of laptops will go on sale from August 6 at 12 PM on Flipkart, Mi India website, and Mi retail stores.
