Realme GT 5G unveiled with Snapdragon 888 and 120Hz screen in China

Realme has unveiled their GT 5G flagship smartphone in China. Realme has teased this smartphone for quite a while now and today finally they have launched this device with stellar pricing. Qualcomm’s latest and greatest flagship processor for the year 2021 powers this device.

The flagship processor made a debut with Samsung’s S21 Series and now it landed on Realme’s premium smartphone.

The Realme GT 5G features their latest HyperBoost 4.0 option that lets gamers amplify their gaming experience much more. The design of this next-gen flagship device from Realme ends up in a glass sandwich style with a black stripe on the yellow color variant from the camera module to the bottom of the smartphone.

The design is very similar to the mid-range segment devices from the manufacturer.

Realme GT 5G Specifications

Realme GT 5G sports a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. In addition to this, the display supports a 100 percent DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 98 percent NTSC, and 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The camera section on the rear features a triple-camera setup comprising a primary 64-megapixel sensor. An 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front-camera of GT 5G is a punch-hole module with a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling.

The rear-facing cameras support EIS with a video resolution of 4K/60fps. The slow-motion video recording capabilities of this device are up to 720p with 480 fps.

The other connectivity features of Realme GT 5G are 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, GPS. The GT 5G supports USB Type-C fast-charging with the in-box 65W adapter for the 4,500mAh cell.

The smartphone runs on the Android 11 operating system with Realme UI 2.0 skin on top. The device has a gaming-centric new GT mode tagging along with the tactile engine.

The speaker setup found on the Realme GT 5G is a Stereo sound system with Dolby Atmos supports out of the box. The storage version of this flagship is a UFS 3.1 storage for 128GB or 256GB. This device has no expandable storage provided and users have the only option to insert two nano-SIM cards. The company has confirmed a MediaTek variant arriving soon dubbed Realme GT Neo.

Price and Availability

The Realme GT 5G starts for a price tag of 2,899 Yuan for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The higher variant GT 5G with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage is priced at 3,399 Yuan.

The color schemes given by Realme for the handset are Dawn (Vegan leatherback), Deep Sea Airship (blue), and Galacticos (blue). The device is available for pre-orders and the sale goes on from March 10 in China. Realme has confirmed the global variant of GT 5G to launch very soon.
