OPPO A53s is one of the new budget smartphones that has 5G connectivity in India. Moreover, the device features the latest MediaTek Dimensity chipset that offers 5G cellular at affordable prices. The newly launched A-series handset is a successor to the previously launched A53 5G in December 2020.
The design of the smartphone and the features are very similar to the recently launched Realme 8 5G variant. There are some differences such as high refresh rate display and cameras. The OPPO A53s sports a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. The display supports an 88.7 percent screen-to-body ratio and standard 60Hz refresh rate. A MediaTek Dimensity 700 Chipset coupled with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU powers the smartphone. The storage options are up to 8GB of RAM and internal storage up to 128GB with expandable memory of up to 1TB via MicroSD card.
The device runs on the Android 11 Operating System with ColorOS 11.1 skin on top. Moreover, the camera setup is a triple camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens. A secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a tertiary 2-megapixel macro shooter with an f/2.4 lens. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling.
The connectivity options on the A53s model are 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The onboard sensors for the A53s are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor. The fingerprint sensor on the device is provided on the side. The battery capacity of the device is a 5000mAh cell that has no support for fast charging as such. The dimensions of the device are 164×75.7×8.4mm and weigh 189.6 grams.

The OPPO A53s comes for a price tag of Rs. 14,990 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB model. The 8GB RAM and 128GB model comes for Rs. 16,990. The two color options provided for the A53s are Crystal Blue and Ink Black variants. The sale for the A53s will start on May 2 at 12 pm Noon in India. Moreover, the sale will take place from the e-commerce website Flipkart and offline stores.
