OnePlus Nord 2 5G, the successor to the last year’s Nord smartphone and the OnePlus Buds Pro have officially launched in India. The event took place virtually on YouTube Live from their channel. The device has few upgrades with design and internals. The performance of the smartphone gets a drastic increase because of MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity processor with 5G connectivity.
Apart from the Nord 2, OnePlus has even announced its Buds Pro TWS earphones at the launch event. The design of these earbuds has changed slightly and comes in a new appealing dark color palette.
Both the smartphone and buds pro feature the OnePlus’s Warp charge that quickly charges the devices. The other upgrades on the Nord include a larger battery, bigger display, and faster charging speeds.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G Specifications
The OnePlus Nord 2 sports a 6.43-inch full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display has support for a 20:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate. The device runs on the Android 11 operating system with Oxygen OS 11.3 skin merged with ColorOS 11.3 codebase on top. A MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC powers the device along with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The camera module on the Nord 2 is a triple camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor with an f/1.88 lens and OIS. An 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.25 ultra-wide lens with 119.7 degrees of FOV and EIS support. Also, the tertiary sensor is a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with an f/2.25 lens. The front-facing camera is a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor with an f/2.45 lens.
The camera has a ton of modes which include Nightscape Ultra, AI Photo Enhancement, AI Video Enhancement; UltraShot HDR, Portrait Mode, Dual Video, and a Pro Mode. The connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The battery capacity of the smartphone is of 4,500mAh dual-cell that supports 65W Warp Charging.
OnePlus Buds 2 Pro Specifications
For starters, the Buds 2 Pro TWS from OnePlus features 11mm dynamic drivers and features as low as 94 milliseconds. The low latency mode provided on the Buds 2 Pro helps users in the Pro Gaming mode. Apart from these, the Buds have hybrid active noise cancellation or ANC system. The system provides the buds with Extreme, Faint, and Smart modes.
The Buds have features such as Zen Mode Air and support for Dolby Atmos. The Zen Mode Air provides a features list of white noises to reduce stress and gives a sense of calm for the users. The Buds 2 Pro supports have IP44 certification for both dust and water resistance. The Buds even get a charging case that charges along with the provided Type-C cable. The battery life of these new Buds gives up to 38 hours in a full charge.
The modes in elaborate feature noise cancellation up to 40dB in Extreme mode, the Faint mode has a noise cancellation of 25dB. Besides, the Smart mode has an automatic system that supports the ambient environment to adjust and compensate for surrounding noises. The microphone array on the Buds Pro is three microphones set up and these filter unwanted noise with the help of a custom noise reduction algorithm.
Price and Availability
The OnePlus Nord 2 starts at a price tag of Rs. Rs. 27,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM and 128GB option is priced at Rs. 29,999 and the high-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB model at Rs. 34,999. The color options are Blue Haze, Gray Sierra, and Green-Wood (India-exclusive) colors. The Buds 2 Pro has launched in Europe and starts at EUR 149 or Rs. 13,100 approx.
The Nord 2 is scheduled for an early access sale from July 26 on Amazon and the OnePlus official website. The regular sale of the smartphone starts from July 28 on Amazon, OnePlus.in, OnePlus Experience Stores and other offline retail stores in India.
