The Chinese flagship smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus has launched their newest flagship devices for the year 2021. The OnePlus 9 Series has launched globally and in India through a live event on 23rd March.
The manufacturer has collaborated with Hasselblad, the camera manufacturing company. This collaboration has lead to a new set of sensors tuned by Hasselblad for improvements in the camera department of 9 and 9 Pro models.
The newly announced OnePlus 9 series comprises three smartphones that are OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and 9R. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will be available globally. Besides, the 9R is an Indian-specific model with a focus more on the gaming side of users.
Anyways, both the 9 and 9 Pro models are very similar in terms of design and cameras. Except there are slight setbacks on the normal version compared with the Pro version. The changes are with screen size, wireless charging, and camera lens.
OnePlus 9 Series Specifications
OnePlus 9 Pro sports a 6.7-inch QHD+ Fluid Display 2.0 AMOLED display. The display supports LTPO technology and has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The adaptive refresh rate on the display helps to reduce battery consumption.
This will save up to 50% of the battery by automatically switching the refresh rate to 1Hz if you are on a static page. The refresh rate gets adjusted to higher rates up to 120Hz if the screen is in motion.
Besides, the screen has support for a 360Hz touch response rate, and OnePlus calls it HyperTouch. Only limited game titles such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, League of Legends, and Brawl Stars support the HyperTouch feature.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC powers the device coupled with Adreno GPU. The device has a cooling system similar to the 8 Pro from last year, which can dissipate heat.
The heat dissipation tech consists of a larger vapor chamber, thicker graphite sheets, and a larger copper foil compared to the previous generations. The OnePlus 9 sports a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio.
The internals of the smartphone is similar to the 9 Pro except for the screen on the regular version is a flat display in-comparison to the 9 Pro’s curved display.
