OnePlus has launched its OnePlus 8 series. The latest series from the company includes as usual two smartphones, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Further, the company also launched Bullets Wireless Z. The OnePlus 8 series supports 5G and comes with a hole-punch display. Both devices come with Snapdragon 865 SoC.
The OnePlus 8 Pro and 8 have some major differences, the 8 Pro features a quad camera setup while the 8 rocks with the triple camera setup. However, the signature alert slider is still present in the 8-series.
Further, the OnePlu 8 Pro supports Wrap charge 30 Wireless charging. Other than that, there is also more difference between the two smartphones and let’s take a look at the specs.
OnePlus 8 Specifications
The OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and has a refresh rate of up to 90Hz.
The front panel has been protected by 3D Gorilla Glass. It is powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The device comes in 128GB and 256GB of USF 3.0 2-Lane Internal Storage.
In-camera department, It has a triple camera at the back that includes a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor which supports both OIS and EIS, a 2MP Macro lens and a 16MP Ultra Wide Angle lens with 116° field of view. The rear camera can record 4K video at 60fps and 1080 pixels Super Slow-motion at 240 fps.
While the front camera has a single 16MP Sony IMX471 lens with EIS and has an aperture of f/2.45. The front camera can record 1080 pixels at 30fps.
The device has a 4,300mAh battery that supports Wrap Charge 30T (5V/6A). It weighs 180 grams.
OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications
The 8 Pro is slightly bigger in size and rocks a 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels and has an aspect ratio of 19.8:9.
The display has a 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by 3D Gorilla Glass. Additionally, the display features Adaptive display, Vibrant color effect Pro and Motion graphics and Smoothing.
The 8 Pro is powered by the same Snapdragon 865 SoC. The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with the same RAM and storage variant but, it has an LPDDR5 RAM.
In the optics department, the 8 Pro has a rear quad camera setup the includes 48 MP SonyIMX689 sensor that supports OIS and EIS both, 48MP Ultra Wide Angle lens with 120° field of view, 8MP telephoto (3X hybrid zoom) lens with OIS and 5MP color filter lens. The rear camera can record 4K video at 60fps and 1080 pixels Super Slow-motion at 240 fps.
While the front camera has a single 16MP Sony IMX471 lens with EIS and has an aperture of f/2.45. The front camera can record 1080 pixels at 30fps.
The 8 Pro has a 4,510mAh battery that supports 30T fast charging and 30W wireless charging.
Both devices support face unlock, have dual stereo speakers and for the first time comes with an IP68 rating. The sensors include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Accelerometer, Electronic compass, Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, and Sensor core.
Price and Availability
The OnePlus 8 and 8 PRo both come in three different color variants. The 8 comes in Glacial Green, Interstellar Glow, and Onyx Black. On the other hand, the Pro variant comes in Glacial Green, Ultramarine Blue, and Onyx Black. The OnePlus 8 series starts from $699 which is roughly Rs 53,000. Pre-orders for the devices have been started. It will go on sale starting from 21 April in the UK and other European regions and from April 29 in the US.
OnePlus hasn’t announced the Indian Price and availability yet. However, the company may reveal something later this month.
