OnePlus 3 was a huge hit. OnePlus even went ahead and launched an upgraded version named 3T, breaking the company convention of one flagship a year.
Whenever OnePlus 3T went official, people started talking about the next flagship from OnePlus. We have been hearing since long that they won’t name it OnePlus 4 because the number four carries misfortune as per Chinese belief.
Now some specifications of the next OnePlus flagship, possibly OnePlus 5 have been leaked.
OnePlus 5 may be Powered by a Massive 8 GB RAM
When OnePlus announced OnePlus 3, people were crazy about the amount of RAM it carried. The debates went ahead over the need for such massive memory. Once the device got launched, there were quite some memory management issues too. But OnePlus managed to kick them away with timely OTA updates.
Now, what people are going to say about their next flagship, dubbed OnePlus 5? It is rumored to feature a whopping 8 GB RAM. Yeah, you heard it right!
You may think it as a marketing gimmick with an argument that a phone doesn’t want such a huge RAM. But you must recollect that the same thing happened last year with the OnePlus 3 as well. The memory proved its worth by giving head-to-head competition to almost every other flagship.
According to the rumors, the phone will have the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset underneath the hood, the one we saw with Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
As the bezel-less display has become the new trend, the speculations suggest that OnePlus is not going to overlook it. Moreover, there are chances for OnePlus to shift from full HD to quad HD with their next flagship. If they do it, the battery should definitely get an upgrade.
Another exciting feature you may see on OnePlus 5 is a dual camera setup. Just like bezel-less design, the dual cameras have become another sensation. OnePlus may vertically place the cameras on the new phone.
Given that the company’s habit of bringing flagship level devices at fairly cheap prices as compared to the competitors, we expect the price to be around 500 USD or 30000 INR.
We request you to take all the specs and price assumption with a pinch of salt because the company hasn’t uttered even a word about their upcoming device. It seems like they are focusing more on the marketing of new OnePlus 3T variants. We have shared the news about the matte black variant a week ago.
