Nokia has made a flamboyant comeback this year with four phones; Nokia 3, 5, 6, and the legendary 3310. They also launched the first Android flagship Nokia 8 this year. Guess what? The HMD Global-helmed company is not going to settle down.
According to a report that came out recently, the company is going to release their next flagship, dubbed as Nokia 9. Alongside the flagship beast, they might also reveal other two smartphones (most probably Nokia 2 and 7) in the beginning of next year at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona.
HMD Global to Launch Nokia 9, 7, and 2 Early Next Year
The rumors and speculations on both Nokia 2 and 9 aren’t new to the gadget enthusiasts. However, Nokia 7 (most probably the mid-range) is a new entrant.
When it comes to the specifications, Nokia 9 might come up with a 3D bezel-less display. The Nokia 8 disappointed almost everyone with its wider bezels. Hence, it is essential for the company to follow the trend. The 5.7-inch display also offers a quad-HD resolution, thanks to the leaks. Although many sources didn’t mention the processor, some quote it as Snapdragon 835. Given Nokia 9 is company’s flagship, we don’t think HMD Global will look for other options.
Most probably, we will see the device coming in both 6 GB and 8 GB RAM variants, coupled with 128 GB onboard storage. It is unsure whether or not they include memory expansion. But the sure thing is it will have a dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint scanner. We also expect the smartphone to come up with an iris scanner too.
Not much about the Nokia 7 is known now. Chances are it replaces Nokia 6 from this year with mid-range specifications. If it happens, HMD won’t price it over Rs. 20000.
Nokia 2 aims the entry-level smartphone users. You might have already read many leaks about it. It will reportedly sport a 5-inch display with 720p resolution. Digging deep, the processor might be 1.27 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210, which accompanies 1/2GB of RAM. If the rumors turn out true, Nokia 2 will have a 4000 mAh battery, 8 MP rear, and 5 MP front cameras.
To recall, Nokia 8 is the current flagship device from HMD Global. It has a 5.3-inch 2K IPS LCD display. Powered by Snapdragon 835 coupled with 6 GB of RAM, it bears a special audio feature named Ozo Audio for spatial recording. Although the shipped OS is Nougat, the company promised a quick Oreo update.
