We have seen many smartphones with 18:9 aspect ratio last year. However, HMD Global-helmed Nokia didn’t seem to have interest in the trending game. Maybe, it will change as their next device hit the market.
HMD Global is going to participate in MWC 2018 happening in Barcelona. In the event, we expect them to release the speculated phones including Nokia 9 and Nokia 1. Going by the leaks that came out recently, we can anticipate Nokia 7 Plus with the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio as well.
Nokia 7 Plus Launch Expected at Mobile World Congress 2018
Mobile World Congress is the paradise for gadget enthusiasts. HMD Global already announced they would be participating in the event and we are almost sure that they will showcase a few of their new offerings as well.
A few days ago, Nokia 7 Plus made its entrance to the GeekBench listing. We have now got a few more expected features from China. You know Nokia made a dramatic comeback with an Android phone in August last year. Ever since it happened, the nostalgic fans have been waiting for the company to raise the standards and release innovative smartphones.
Some Chinese sites have published a few presentation slides on Nokia 7 Plus. Quoting them, the device will feature a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. However, there are considerable bezels above and below the screen as seen in the image.
Rumour is that the device will have a metal unibody design with a ceramic coating. Of course, it is a major upgrade over Nokia 7, which they launched last year. Nonetheless, the only concern is they took their time to embrace the change.
Underneath the hood, chances are we can find Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU. A 4 GB RAM may accompany the processor on Nokia 7 Plus, which we hope to have Android 8.0 Oreo. Though we got no details on the internal memory, 64 GB is the best bet we can put our money into. Another interesting rumor is that the company might roll out Android 8.1 update within weeks after the official release in China.
When it comes to the camera, the reports point to the possibility of having 12 MP+ 13 MP dual rear camera setup. Up front, it might also sport a 16 MP camera for selfies. The much-marketed feature bothie will surely make its way to the new device as well. We expect HMD to include quick charging support for Nokia 7 Plus.
As always, you should take all these leaked details with a nip of salt as nothing has gone official yet.
