HMD Global has given a new life to the nostalgic brand, Nokia with a few smartphone launches last year. This time, they have come up with another phone, dubbed as Nokia 7.
The company conducted an event in China yesterday and unveiled the device there. The fifth Nokia phone under the banner of HMD Global has brought Brothie camera to a much affordable budget.
HMD Global Launched Nokia 7 with Brothie Camera
When it comes to the specs, Nokia 7 sports a 5.2-inch display with full HD resolution. The screen has Gorilla Glass 3 protection and the device itself boasts an IP57 rating for splash resistance.
Underneath the hood, the smartphone carries a Snapdragon 630 chipset, which we expect Xiaomi to ship inside their upcoming Redmi Note 5. Though they have a single storage option (64 GB), the company opted for both 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options. In any case, you find the storage isn’t enough, the memory expansion comes in handy.
The main highlight of the device is its camera. On the back, it features a single camera setup with a 16 MP sensor and a lens with f/1.8 aperture. We have seen many manufacturers coming up with dual cameras for the price less than that of the new Nokia 7, though. Up front, the selfie shooter packs in a 5 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens.
Nokia 8 brought the new feature Brothie to the limelight, which allows the user to capture rear and front images in a single shot. The new one is also equipped with the same. Digging deep, we found out that Nokia 7 uses the same sensor we saw inside OnePlus 3T.
The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which is a letdown. However, the company promised a quick Oreo update for it. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh, with no mention of fast charging.
Nokia 7 carries minimal bezels and comes in two different colors; Gloss Black and Matt White. And, it has glass black, metal frames, and Ozo audio support (allows you to record 360-degree spatial audio).
Despite the mid-range processor, HMD Global didn’t price it any cheaper. In China, they have priced it at CNY 2499 for the low-end variant. When the Nokia 7 makes its way to India, we can’t expect them to carry a price tag less than Rs. 22000.
From the brand’s perspective, Sub 25k is the pricing segment, where they have no presence in India. Nokia 6 comes under 15k and Nokia 8 at 37k.
