HMD Global, at an event they held in Moscow on Tuesday (29/05/2018), announced the arrival of 2018 editions of Nokia 2, Nokia 3, and Nokia 5. Dubbed as Nokia 2.1, the low-end variant runs on Android Go edition whereas both Nokia 3.1 and 5.1 runs on Android Oreo, as part of Android One programme.
Although the company has made the new iterations official. They haven’t uttered anything about the availability of the same in India.

When it comes to the specifications, Nokia 2.1 sports a 5.5-inch HD display with the old 16:9 aspect ratio. You will get an anti-fingerprint coating on the screen as well. Under the hood, Nokia 2 (2018) sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset coupled with 1 GB RAM. HMD claims the 4000 mAh battery inside the phone can offer up to 2 days of battery life. You can expand the 8 GB internal storage up to 128 GB using an external SD card.
As for the optics, it bears an 8 MP sensor on the rear with an LED flash and autofocus. Up front, Nokia 2.1 has a 5 MP fixed focus camera.
Nokia 3.1 features a 5.2-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. You know they have opted for this resolution to make room for 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset packs in MediaTek MT6750 chipset underneath the hood doubled with two RAM variants (2/3GB).
In terms of the camera, Nokia 3 (2018) offers a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, it has an 8 MP camera with an 84.5-degree field of view. You can choose from 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. If you think it’s too low, memory expansion up to 128 GB is possible. The device gets a 2990 mAh battery for powering the internals.
The high-end of the three, Nokia 5.1 has a 5.5-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone has octa-core MediaTek MT6755S SoC coupled with 2/3 GB RAM. The 16/32 GB internal storage can further be expanded up to 128 GB as well.
In the camera front, it has a single 16 MP rear sensor with phase detection autofocus. The selfie camera features an 8 MP fixed focus lens. A 3000 mAh battery powers the innards of the device.
The Indian pricing hasn’t been revealed yet. The global average price for Nokia 2.1 is $115 (around Rs. 7800). Nokia 3.1, on the other hand, has a price of EUR 139 (Rs. 10300) and Nokia 5.1 has EUR 189 (Rs. 14800).
