The Lenovo-helmed Motorola decided to grab the affordable smartphone market in India with their new offering Moto C Plus. Xiaomi has been dominating the 6-10k pricing range with their multiple smartphones since long and the new one from Motorola aims at hints at taking their monopoly down.
The Android smartphone went on sale on 20/06/2017 exclusively via Flipkart and mimicked the Xiaomi’s flash sale as the company follows a limited period availability tactic for the marketing.
Moto C Plus Got Released on 20/06/2017
Given that over 85% of phones selling online in India are in 6-10k pricing range, Lenovo went on launching the smartphone for Rs. 6999. They already released the inferior version of it named Moto C Plus earlier this month. Motorola has got greater brand recognition than Lenovo itself and that’s why they chose it over the parental name for the new offerings.
Moto C Plus sports a 5-inch 720p display with no mentioned protection on top of it. The TFT LCD display may not outperform an AMOLED screen, but still, it’s a good-to-go for the price it is offered at. Underneath the hood, you will have a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core Cortex-A53 SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It has 16 GB of internal storage, which you can expand up to 32 GB using an external SD card.
The smartphone packs in an 8 MP rear camera a with a 71-degree field of view and a LED flash. The front facing camera is similar to what we saw already on Moto C; it’s 2 MP. One of the major advantages of Moto C Plus is the battery capacity. The 4000 mAh battery can withstand quite a good time provided the display doesn’t consume much of the power as compared to some high-end smartphone models. Moto C Plus running on Android Nougat also offers dual-SIM slots with all the usual connectivity options including 4G VoLTE.
If you are a person who wants to buy a smartphone priced at around 7k INR, you will have two choices; Moto C Plus and Xiaomi Redmi 4. At some areas like camera, expandable storage, and the availability of choices, the Redmi 4 takes an upper hand.
