Xiaomi marked a new beginning in the smartphone industry with their near bezel-less smartphone, Mi Mix last year. In an event happened in China on Monday (12/09/17), the company unveiled Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3.
To recall, they launched Mi Note 2 along with Mi Mix last year too. Although Mi Mix 2 rose up to the expectation in the spec sheet, the Mi Note 3 is a bit of letdown at least in the paper.
Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 Launched in China
Mi Mix 2 sports a full HD+ display with the same bezel-less design from its predecessor. Moreover, Xiaomi has reduced the size of the chin, which houses the selfie camera. On the back, we can see a single camera, LED light, and a fingerprint scanner. Underneath the hood, the smartphone packs in a Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45 GHz coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. They released two variants in terms of RAM; 6 GB for the regular variant and 8 GB for the special edition. When it comes to the onboard storage, we can pick between, 64, 128, and 256 GB. Sadly, there is no expansion for storage using an external SD card. To be honest, nobody needs it on the high-end variant.
The rear camera has a 16 MP Sony IMX386 sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens that supports 4-axis optical image stabilization. On the other side, the selfie camera features a 5 MP sensor. The device has almost all the necessary sensors and connectivity options. All of the specs are powered by a 3400 mAh battery.
The device will go on sale in China on Monday. The device is priced at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 32,300) for its 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant, CNY 3,599 (roughly Rs. 35,300) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant, and CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 39,200) for the 6GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant. They also released a special edition, sporting full ceramic body, which has a price of CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 46,000) and it has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage.
Mi Note 3 has a 5.5-inch full HD display. Digging deep, it has a Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM. On the back, we can spot a dual rear camera setup with two 12 MP sensors, a telephoto lens, and a wide angle lens. They brought two storage variants; 64 GB and 128 GB. The battery capacity is 3500 mAh.
