Motorola didn’t release even a single smartphone in Moto X lineup in the last two years. The last one was Moto X Force, launched in 2015. The company helmed by Lenovo has brought yet another smartphone under the same banner, dubbed as Moto X4.
Moto X4 with Dual Camera Setup Launched
Lenovo launched the smartphone at IFA happening in Berlin, Russia. It sports a unibody metal design and comes in two different colors; Super Black and Sterling Blue. The dual rear cameras on the back are housed inside a protruding round-shaped ring. The home button also functions as a fingerprint scanner. They haven’t bothered much to ditch the 3.5-mm headphone jack. Moreover, we also get a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
When it comes to the specifications, Moto X4 features a 5.2-inch full HD LTPS IPS display with 424 PPI pixel density. Underneath the hood, we can see it bears a Snapdragon 630 SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz coupled with an Adreno 508 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. Given the pricing of Moto X4 (EUR 399 or roughly Rs. 30000), the 3 GB RAM seems a bit less. The onboard storage is 32 GB and you will have the ability to expand it further up to 2 TB using an external SD card. There are also rumors that the company might release a 4 GB/ 64 GB version in some regions.
As stated earlier, the main highlight of the smartphone is its dual camera setup. On the back, it has one 12-megapixel dual autofocus sensor with an aperture f/2.0 along with an 8 MP wide angle sensor with 120-degree field of view. Just like any other smartphone came out from renowned OEMs, this one also bears special effects like depth of field (or selective focus or portrait mode), background replacement, etc. The selfie camera, on the other hand, houses a 16 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and flash. The smartphone also provides a special beauty mode to make your selfies appealing.
All the components get power from its 3000 mAh battery, which the company claims to provide battery juice for a complete day. It even supports fast charging that draws in the power for six hours within 15 minutes (according to the company itself).
Another significant feature is the presence of an additional voice assistant, Amazon Alexa (barring Google Assistant). Moto X4 is IP68 water and dust resistant. And, it even has a dedicated password manager, named Moto Key.
