Lenovo, on Tuesday, launched K8 in India after K8 Plus and K8 Note. As we expected, the new one bears the low-end specs as compared to the other two. Unlike the company convention, they announced the smartphone via Twitter.
They are not going to sell K8 via any online marketplaces, and you will have to visit an offline retail shop to get your hands on it.
Lenovo Launched K8 Note in India
The phone features a 5.2-inch IPS HD display (720x 1280 resolution) with 2.5D glass. You might wonder why hasn’t Lenovo opted for a full HD display given there are phones with the same specs under this price bracket. Underneath the hood, you can find a 2.3 GHz MediaTek Helio P20 chipset coupled with 3 GB RAM. It is possible to expand the 32 GB internal storage using an external SD card. Just like any phone coming out today, it bears a fingerprint scanner on the back.
When it comes to the camera, K8 sports a 13 MP sensor on the back with an LED flash and phase detection autofocus support. Among the three K8 series smartphones, this is the only one without a dual rear camera setup. Up front, the selfie shooter bears an 8MP sensor with a soft flash.
The phone has a single speaker powered by Dolby Atmos with a dedicated music button on the left panel. You can pop in two nano SIM cards into the device. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh and the company claims it to last for 1.5 days.
It runs on Android version 7.1.1 Nougat. Lenovo has ditched Vibe UI forever for a much smoother user experience. Despite being the new phone from the company, we haven’t got any information about them bringing Android Oreo to it (taking the company’s update history into consideration). Priced at Rs. 10499, Lenovo K8 is available in Venom Black and Fine Gold colors.
To recall, K8 Note has a 5.5-inch full HD display. Digging deep, it features a MediTek Helio X23 chipset doubled with 3/4 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB internal storage. It can further be expanded up to 128 GB using an SD card. The dual SIM device also has a dual camera setup on the back with a 13 MP primary and 5 MP secondary sensors. Up front, the device sports a 13 MP selfie camera. K8 Plus is a slightly low-end in specs when it comes to the screen size, camera, and processor.
