The Indian Telecom giant Jio is offering up to five months free 4G data and Jio-to-Jio phone calls with the purchase of JioFi 4G wireless hotspot.
The 4G hotspot comes with a price tag of Rs 1,999. Reliance announced this special offer on Independence day.
How to Activate Jio Independence Day Offer
To avail the Independence special offer, you need to purchase a Jio 4G hotspot from a Reliance digital store. After the purchase and the SIM card activation, you need to choose a plan for JioFi.
There are three following options available, to choose at the time of SIM activation.
- The plan starts at Rs 199, which gives 1.5GB data daily and valid for 28 days. Also, you can give an extra Rs 99 for Jio Prime membership, 1.5GB data every day, unlimited Jio to Jio calls, 1000 minutes (for Jio to other networks) per 28 days, and 100 national SMS per day for 140 days.
- The second plan costs Rs 249, which offers 2GB daily data for 28 days. Similarly, with Rs 199 plan, you can pay extra Rs 99 for prime membership and get 2GB data per day, unlimited Jio to Jio calls, 1000 minutes per 28 days, and 100 national SMS per day for 112 days.
- The final plan comes at Rs 349, it gives you 3GB data every day for 28 days. And with Rs 99 you can get Prime membership and extra benefits such as 3GB data per day, unlimited Jio to Jio calls, 1000 minutes per 28 days, and 100 national SMS per day for 8 4days.
After choosing a plan, once the activated SIM is inserted in the JioFi, the selected plan will start in the next one hour. You can also check your plan through the MyJio app.
What if You Buy JioFi Online
If you purchase the JioFi online, once the device is delivered at your home, you will receive an email from Jio to schedule home delivery of the Jio SIM.
At the delivery, the Jio employee will activate the SIM instantly through digital KYC at the time of delivery. After the SIM activation, you’ll be able to choose a plan from the above 3 plans.
What if Jio SIM Cannot Deliver
If the SIM card is not shipped to your home location due to logistics or for any reason, you can go to your nearest Reliance Digital Store with your ID and JioFi. After getting the Jio SIM you’ll able to select the plan and enjoy the special offer.
