Last week, we all had been waiting for Lenovo Z5 announcement. On the contrary to the official teaser, the company has included a notch and even a bottom chin. Though they managed to sell the device like a hotcake, a true bezel-less display remained like an unachievable target.
Vivo has amazed everyone again (the last time, with under-screen fingerprint scanner) with Nex. They managed to gain 91.24% screen-to-body ratio with no-notches.
Vivo Nex S and Nex A with True Bezel-less Display Launched
In the last few months, Vivo has upped their reputation as an innovative brand rather than the one, which sells the least value for money smartphones. We have already reported the arrival Vivo X20 UD here, on Geek Dashboard.
At an event conducted in China, the company has unveiled two Nex series smartphones. Similar to the Apex concept phone they teased, the new offerings carry a hidden selfie camera. It only comes out in need. Given they managed to find a spot for the front camera inside the phone, the phones became truly bezel-less with 91.24 screen-to-body ratios.
When it comes to the specifications, 6.59-inch full HD+ super AMOLED display features 19.3:9 aspect ratio. Both the devices run on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android Oreo as well. The common features include Jovi AI assistant, natural language understanding, automatic speech recognition, text-to-speech, emotion detection, 7.1-channel 3D sound, Al-powered filters, Unreal Engine for games, 4000 mAh battery, etc.
Under the hood, Nex S packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 8 GB RAM. You get to choose between 128 and 256 GB internal storage options. For the optics, it has a dual rear setup with 12 MP primary and 5 MP secondary sensor. The camera boasts 4-axis optical image stabilization with dual-core pixels. Up front, it has an 8 MP pop-up camera.
Nex A, on the other hand, contains Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 6 GB RAM. Though the camera specifications are the same, it has only 128 GB of storage in comparison with the 256 GB on Nex S.
The much-celebrated under-display fingerprint scanner found its room only on Nex S. You will see it on the back of Nex A.
Comes in Black and Red colors, the devices will hit the market on June 23. The low-end phone Vivo Nex A carries a price tag of CNY 3898 (around Rs. 41000). Vivo Nex S 8 GB+128 GB has the price of CNY 4498 (around Rs. 47400) whereas 8 GB+ 256 GB has CNY 4998 (Rs. 52600).
We haven’t got any confirmation on the release date and pricing in India. As you all do, we believe they won’t ignore the Indian market.
