September is here, and the latest edition of iPhones’ from Apple has launched featuring new hardware changes and chipsets. Apple has announced the regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus along with the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max devices. The ‘Wonderlust ’ event was held on Tuesday and streamed live from Apple Park based in Cupertino, California.
The new changes brought to the iPhones include the latest A17 Pro processor on the Pro variants of the devices. The whole line-up has now ditched the traditional lightning port and comes with the USB-C for charging and data transfer. Besides, the regular 15 and 15 Plus models come with a dynamic island and the Pro variants now feature an action button instead of the alert slider.
Apple iPhone 15 Series Specifications and New Changes
The iPhone 15 series line-up now features both 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED Displays. The displays have the ability to go up to a peak brightness of 2000 nits under direct sunlight. Besides, the ceramic shield protection on the display is now offered on all of the iPhone models including 15 and 15 Plus.
Speaking of the design, the Pro series now features the Grade 5 titanium and aluminum structure that provides a strong composition with less weight than the stainless steel. The iPhone’s along with this new metal feature the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Moreover, the Pro variants feature the new 3nm A17 Pro chipset that offers more efficiency and performs much better than previous iterations.
On the camera front, even the 15 and 15 Plus feature a 48-megapixel sensor as the primary shooter along with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The Pro variants of the iPhones feature the 12-megapixel telephoto and periscope cameras. These new sensors help in capturing more details while taking zoom shots.
The front-facing camera now includes a 12-megapixel TrueDepth sensor that comes with a f/1.9 aperture for selfies and video calling. The USB Type-C port comes as a new addition to the lineup on both the regular and Pro variants. On the Pro variants, the Type-C port comes with USB 3.0 speeds that offer up to 10 Gbps transfer speeds with the appropriate cable.
Price and Availability
The regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus comes with the same pricing as last year’s 14 models. The iPhone 15 Pro now starts at Rs. 1,34,900 for the 128 GB version. The iPhone 15 Pro Max comes at Rs. 1,59,900 for the 256 GB storage variant. Moreover, the storage variants available on these iPhones are 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
The color options on the Pro variants include the new Black Titanium, Blue Titanium, Natural Titanium, and White Titanium finishes. The pre-orders for the new iPhone 15 series will begin on September 15. The sale will kickstart on September 22 in major retail markets across the world including India.
