We have entered into the era of Artificial Intelligence. The recent storm of AI-powered chatbots like ChatGPT and Google Bard took over the internet. Now it looks like we are going to see much more powerful AI-based tools in the coming decades. The forthcoming humanoid robots are going to be one of them.
Whenever we talk or think about humanoid robots, what comes to our mind is that it is going to be very expensive and would be mostly used in industries and large firms only. But one of the industry experts, the CEO of NVIDIA has a completely different take on this.
NVIDIA CEO Believes Humanoid Robots Will be Very Popular Among the General Audience
The CEO of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang attended the recent CadenceLIVE Silicon Valley event. At the event itself, he took part in an interview and gave some intriguing opinions on the upcoming humanoid robots. According to the CEO, humanoid robots will be way more popular compared to what we think it of to be. And when he refers to the word popular, he is not only counting in the industries and professions; but the general audience as well.
Yes, you heard it right. If we sum it up, he believes that the upcoming humanoid robots will be very popular among the general population. Well, as stated previously, the expected prices of these robots would be on the very higher side which makes it almost impossible to be popular among the general population, but Huang has a different saying on this.
He says that if we go to buy a cheap car, we will have to spend at least 10,000 to 20,000 US dollars. In the coming decades, we will be able to buy a full-fledged humanoid robot for the same price range. This indirectly confirms that he believes that these robots would be priced between $10,000-$20,000. He also says that getting a humanoid robot will make a lot more sense than getting a cheap car – but for specific environments only.
The NVIDIA is also working on the humanoid robot termed Project GROOT. This will be the base model among their upcoming series of robots. If we count in the opinion of Huang, we would not be wrong to assume that they will price this humanoid robot around $20,000. Well, in the end, it all stands as an assumption and a very quick guess. We are still a few years away from seeing humanoid robots working in our daily lives.
