Huawei has launched two new smartphones in the Huawei Nova 8 series, named Nova 8 SE and Nova 8 SE High Edition in China. The Huawei 8 SE standard edition and High Edition both share the same specification except the processor.
Both smartphones come with MediaTek processors and 66W fast charging. The series is the successor to the Huawei Nova 7 SE, launched in April this year.
Huawei Nova 8 SE Specifications
Huawei Nova 8 SE features a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ OLED display with 1,080 x 2400 pixels. The SE High Edition is powered by the octa-core Dimensity 800U SoC. While the standard edition comes with the octa-core Dimensity 720 SoC. Both processors are paired with the Mali-G57 GPU.
For memory, it has 8GB and 128GB internal storage.
In terms of optics, the Huawei Nova 8 SE comes with a quad-camera setup that includes a 64 MP primary camera with an f/1.9 lens, an 8 MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle with f/2.4 aperture, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro lens.
The rear camera supports 10x digital zoom and 4K video recording. It features AI beauty shot, wide-angle, night scene mode, portrait mode (including skin beautification), photo, professional photo, video, panorama, HDR, time-lapse photography, continuous shooting, filter, large aperture, timing photo, and voice control photo.
For selfies, it has a 16 MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture housed in the notch. It runs on EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10.
Connectivity options include 5G (High Edition only), 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. It packs a 3,800mAh battery that supports a 66W fast charging sensor. For security, it has an In-display fingerprint sensor.
Price And Availability
The Huawei Nova 8 SE Standard Edition has a price tag of CNY 2,599, which is roughly Rs 29,000 for the single 8GB + 128GB variant. Whereas the High Edition is priced at CNY 2,699 which is roughly Rs 30,200 for the same 8GB + 128GB variant.
The smartphone comes in Deep Sea Blue, Magic Night Black, Silver Moon Stars, and Sakura Snow Clear Sky. The device is up for pre-booking in China. However, there is no information about the India launch.
