Huawei’s smartphone sub-brand Honor has launched V10, which is the latest flagship from the company. They haven’t released it globally and the worldwide launch event will happen on December 5 in London.

In the same event (V10 global) will launch Honor 7X for India as well. Honor V10 packs in many impressive specifications, one of which includes the company’s take on Apple’s Face ID.

It looks like Huawei is on fire now. They have unveiled Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro last month. If you are a regular reader of Geek Dashboard, you might have already read our report on them. Now they launched Honor V10 barely after a month.

The dual nano SIM device sports a 5.99-inch near bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The full HD+ resolution provides us with a pixel density 401 PPI. The IPS LCD display might bother some users as they anticipate AMOLED or OLED screen on flagships.

Underneath the hood, it packs in a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset with four Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz, four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and an i7 co-processor. Kirin 970 is a flagship level offering from Huawei itself. When you get the device, you will have 6 GB of RAM coupled with either 64 or 128 GB onboard storage. You can always expand the internal memory up to 256 GB using an external SD card. A noteworthy fact is memory expansion goes in line with sacrificing dual SIM functionality because the device has hybrid slots.

When it comes to the camera, the rear packs in a dual setup with one 16-megapixel RGB and the other 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. Up front, it bears a 13-MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

Huawei Honor V10 comes with all the necessary connectivity options and the battery capacity is 3750  mAh, which the company claims to offer 23 days of standby time.

The main highlight of the device is Kirin 970 chipset. It contains a neural network processing unit aka NPU, which brings AI capabilities to the phone and makes it intelligent rather than smart.

V10 is available in four different colors: Red, Black, Gold and Aurora Gold. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB variant has a price of CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs. 26,400), 6GB RAM/ 64GB variant has CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 29,300), and the 6GB RAM/ 128GB variant has CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 34,200). They made it available for pre-orders on Vmall.com, JD.com, Tmall.com, Suning.com, and Gome.com.

In the same event, Huawei also unveiled a few tech, they are working on future products. Face ID, being one of them, captures 300000 points (10 times that of Apple’s) in a 3D map of user’s face. Moreover, they also showcased an Animoji clone of Apple.
