Huawei’s smartphone subdivision Honor has launched their next smartphone in the mid-range pricing segment. Dubbed as Honor 7X, the smartphone is a successor to the last year’s 6X.
Yesterday (11-10-2017), the company had conducted a launch event in China, where they announced the new device with some interesting specifications.
Huawei Launched Honor 7X with FullVision Display
We have been witnessing revolutionary changes in the smartphone industry over the past few years. First came the dual cameras, then bezel-less display, and we even got a chance to see smartphones with dual displays as well.
It seems like near bezel-less displays with 18:9 aspect ratio has become a trend now. The new offering from Huawei also sports a large 5.93-inch FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. They have upped the display resolution from full HD to full HD+, which is 2160x 1080 pixels.
The smartphone boasts a unibody metal design with a fingerprint scanner placed on the back. Underneath the hood, it bears an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, clocked at 2.36 GHz, coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The company announced that they will provide the customers with an option to choose from 32/64/128 GB onboard storage. Moreover, the device also supports storage expansion via memory cards.
When it comes to the camera, Honor 7X features a dual camera setup on the back, with 16 MP+ 2MP sensor that supports phase detection autofocus technology. The back camera specs remind us of their recently released Honor 9i. The 2 MP sensor is used for sensing the depth details on the smartphone for a smooth background blurring effect. Up front, it has an 8 MP sensor for selfie buffs.
The hybrid dual-SIM smartphone packs in a 3340 mAh battery, which supports fast charging via SuperCharge technology, developed by the company itself. The IP67 splash resistant certification and the 3D surround sound support are two unique features Huawei is offering with Honor 7X.
They have launched the device in three colors; Midnight Black, Platinum Gold, and Aurora Blue. Although Honor 7X has gone official, it will only hit the market in China on October 17. Price starts at 1299 Yuan (roughly Rs 12,868.80). It goes all the way up to 1699 Yuan (roughly Rs 16,829.41) and 1999 Yuan (roughly Rs 19,801.06) respectively for 32, 64, and 128 GB variants.
Honor 5X and 6X have made their ways to India and we expect 7X to follow the same path. However, it is unsure of when the Indian launch event happens.
On the other side of the spectrum, Huawei is working on their flagship smartphones Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Going by the speculations, they will launch both the models on October 16.
