Honor View 20 Launched with 48 MP Camera and ‘Hole Punch’ Display

Honor View 20 has been in the news from the last few months. In December, we reported that the Honor View 20 was officially introduced. Later, the Huawei sub-brand Honor launched this smartphone in China. But the company did not announce anything regarding the availability and pricing of this smartphone.

Now, we know all the details regarding the Honor View 20 as the smartphone has been officially unveiled by Honor. In a special event held in Paris, Honor announced the View 20 for its global audience. We have also known that the Honor View 20 will launch officially in India on January 29.

Honor View 20: Everything you need to know

Honor View 20 is the latest addition to Honor’s flagship View lineup of smartphones. This smartphone is the successor to Honor View 10. It is also one of the first smartphones to come with a ‘Hole-Punch’ selfie camera. The display of Honor View 20 is same as the Infinity-O display seen on the Samsung Galaxy A8s. This ‘Hole-Punch’ houses the selfie camera on the smartphone to get rid of the notch. Honor View 20 has a powerful 48MP camera on the back as well.

Talking about the display, Honor View 20 has a 6.4-inch full HD+ LCD panel with a 19.25:9 aspect ratio. Honor also claims that the View 20 has a 91.8% screen-to-body ratio. This device is powered by the 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC which is the flagship chipset from Huawei. The device is available with 6GB of RAM and comes in 64GB and 128GB storage variants.

As for the optics, Honor View 20 has a 48MP primary rear camera with a 3D TOF secondary camera. The secondary camera on Honor View 20 is used for capturing the depth of an image. We have a 25MP selfie camera on the front, resting inside the Hole-Punch.

The dual rear camera setup is capable of capturing slow-mo videos at 960fps. In a first, Honor View 20 is powered by Magic UI rather than EMUI which is standard on most Huawei or Honor devices. Magic UI on the Honor View 20 is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The device supports fast charging and has a 4000 mAh non-removable battery.

Regarding pricing, Honor View 20 is available in Europe for EUR 569 in 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The price bumps up to EUR 649 for the 128GB storage variant. Honor also launched a Moschino Co-Design edition of View 20 which comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
