Grand Theft Auto V6, also known as GTA 6 is probably the most anticipated game of this decade. Several gamers are waiting for its official release. The game was first stated to be officially available to general consumers by the end of 2024.
This was later shifted to 2025 as the game’s development hit a major roadblock. But it seems that things have not turned good even yet. The game’s development progress is still rising much slower than expected and hence the game’s official arrival might get delayed once again.
GTA 6 is not coming anytime soon, the launch gets further delayed
A new report making rounds of the internet claims that Rockstar games are facing a lot of issues due to remote employees which is affecting the development schedule of GTA 6. This delay in the game’s development process will push the game’s expected launch timeline by several months. Initially, The game was expected to be released around the end of 2025 but is now expected to be released in 2026.
But one good this is that the Rockstar games still claim that the upcoming GTA 6 will be launched in 2026. They had previously mandated all of its developers to return to the office by April. Now we know why they wanted their employees to return from work from home to work from the office. They were already cautious of the delays that might be caused because of the work-from-home schedule.
The Rockstar games still have a firm commitment to the promised launch timeline of Spring 2025. However, they might consider 2026 as an expected launch duration as an emergency or maybe due to a setback in the development plan of the game.
The first teaser of the upcoming GTA 6 was released in December 2023 and it broke the record for the highest views in X number of hours. This goes to show how much people are excited for the game. The trailer just gives us a little glimpse of what’s coming and there are no major conclusions that can be made from it. GTA 6, however, is expected to be one of the most graphically advanced games launched to date.
The game will be published for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a PC version still to be confirmed, however, it is highly probable that it will be released later down the line, as has been the case with prior GTA titles. While a potential delay is upsetting, the additional time will allow Rockstar to develop a game that lives up to fans’ high expectations.
