Google held an I/O event for this year in May and has announced Android 12 and Wear OS that features Material You design. This design aspect has eventually has become an overall user interface aspect for both smartphones and smartwatches on Android.

First and Foremost, the Google Play update has started to narrow the search results to just Watch apps or Watch faces with new filters. This way, users of Wear OS can install watch apps directly from Google’s Play store. This wasn’t the case with previous versions as the Wear OS had its own store.
