Google Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold smartphones were officially unveiled at this year’s Google I/O event. The tech giant has finally launched its flagship folding device and affordable A-series smartphone after a lot of speculations. Both the newly announced devices from Google are powered by the in-house Tensor G2 chipset.
The design language of these new devices has quite similar aspects like the metal bar on the back from Pixel 7 series. The Pixel 7a has upgrades like wireless charging support, a 90Hz display, and an IP67 rating. The new Pixel Fold features a 180-degree holding hinge and comes with the highest battery capacity of any other folding handset.

The Pixel 7a sports a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The 7a comes with an aluminum frame, a plastic back, and a metal bar that features the camera module.
Under the hood, an octa-core 5nm Google Tensor G2 chipset paired with Mali-G710 MP7 powers the device. The storage provided on the device includes 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone runs on the Android 13 operating system with support for regular updates of up to 5 years.
The camera module features a dual sensor system featuring a primary 64-megapixel shooter with f/1.89 aperture. The primary shooter has an 80-degree FoV and Super Res Zoom for up to 8x. The Google Tensor G2 chipset paired with a Titan M2 security chip and Mali-G710 MP7 GPU powers the handset. The Fold features 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a UFS 3.1 internal storage of up to 512 GB. The handset runs on the latest and greatest Android 13 operating system with a guaranteed update of 5 years.
The camera module of the device includes a primary 48-megapixel wide-angle lens with OIS, CLAF, and f/1.7 aperture. The Google Pixel 7a comes with a price tag of Rs. 43,999 or $499 for the single storage version of the 8 + 128GB variant. The device flaunts three different color versions of Charcoal, Sea, and Snow. The handset will be available for sale from May 11 exclusively on Flipkart in India with instant discount offers.
The Pixel Fold starts at a price of $1,799 or Rs. 1,47,500 for the 256GB storage version and $1,919 or Rs. 1,57,300 for the 512 GB variant. The phone will be available in Obsidian and Porcelain color options and Google is offering a Pixel Watch free for customers that purchase the Fold. The device will sell only in select countries across the world and is currently available for pre-order in the US.
