Google has rolled out several new features for Assistant Snapshot. The latest updates include voice support that will help users to summon the feature by asking the Assistant to show upcoming tasks and recommendations for dinner, activities, and podcasts.
The update is rolled out for both iOS and Android devices. Google mentioned that the feature is functional for those who use English as their default language, and the support for other languages will roll out in the coming months.
Google Assistant Snapshot Feature
The new Snapchat feature will not only give you the regular essential updates like commute times and bills reminders but also display upcoming birthdays and holidays that you have booked.
The company said in the latest blog; the Snapshot cards will adjust based on the time of the day and user interaction. Starting the day with commute time, weather, and top headlines to users meetings.
1. Tailored Recommendation
After the latest update, it will be able to send recommendations for dinner, activities, and podcasts. The recommendations will base on users’ preferences. Also, if users want some dinner inspiration, tap to check out new recipes that you may want to try.
Additionally, it will send recipe recommendations during different times of the day.
2. Voice Support
Earlier, to show Snapshot users had to tap the mic icon or pull the Assistant from the bottom corner to the screen to see the information. But now, to access it, users can say “Hey Google Show me my day” to get the same story. The feature is now live for those who use English as their default language, and the support for other languages will roll out in the coming months.
3. Get Important Notification
Now, to make sure users don’t miss anything. Google Assistant will send notifications to user’s phones with essential information like flight and event updates, upcoming bills, and due date reminders. Also, the company is adding even more features to help stay on top of your day. In English-speaking markets, it’ll be adding upcoming birthdays.
When the user taps on the notification, it’ll be taken to the related Snapshot card to take action with suggestions like calling, texting, or even singing a personalized birthday song.
