OTT platforms have gained a high number of smartphone viewers in the past few years. To attract more smartphone users, Amazon India has launched a new mobile-only plan for Prime Video. The plan is called ‘Prime Video Mobile Edition’ that costs Rs 89. To compete with Netflix’s Rs 199 mobile-only plan.
Amazon India has collaborated with Indian Telecom operator Bharti Airtel. All Airtel prepaid customers will be eligible for a 30-day free trial of Prime Video Mobile Edition. You can sign up for Prime Video Mobile Edition starting today. The new plan is a single user mobile-only plan, providing SD (standard definition) quality streaming to customers.
Prime Video Mobile Edition
As mentioned, the Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition plan will only be available to prepaid Airtel users. The plan costs Rs 89 for Prime Video content only along with 6 GB of data. While the plan Rs 299 plan offers video content along with unlimited calls and data access of 1.5 GB per day for 28 days.
Unlike Netflix, Prime users can choose to upgrade to the full Prime Video experience. That includes multiple profiles, simultaneous streaming, access on TV, and HD/ 4K content.
Airtel users can get 30 days of Amazon Prime by recharging your Airtel prepaid number with Rs 131 as part of the Rs 349 prepaid plan that lasts for 28 days offers unlimited calling and 2GB data per day along with prime video subscription.
The traditional Amazon Prime costs Rs 129 for a month or Rs 999 per year. Which includes Amazon Prime and Prime video subscription.
Amazon Academy
Amazon India today on 13 January announced the launch of Amazon Academy. The Amazon Academy will help students preparing for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) for entrance to engineering colleges. The beta version of Amazon Academy is available free of cost on the web and the Google Play store.
The company said All learning material and exam content has been developed by expert faculty from across the country. Moreover, those preparing for BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEEE, and MET exams will also benefit from the quality content resources available. The content is currently available for free and will continue to be for the next few months.
